| HDS curriculum |
The Hebrew Day School provides a sophisticated and
challenging, but balanced curriculum between English and Hebrew studies,
and encourages the pursuit of excellence in all academic areas. Our
educators seek to stimulate the cognitive, social and emotional skills
of each child in a developmentally appropriate manner.
Literacy skills are developed in both English and Hebrew beginning
in Nursery School with both alphabets. In 1st through 8th grades,
the students learn English, social studies, math, the sciences, art,
gym, music and computer lab. Jewish studies include the Hebrew language,
Jewish holidays and customs, the beauty of our heritage and tradition,
and study from the Bible to the Talmud.
Our programs inspire our students to develop an enduring commitment
to Torah, academic excellence, Israel, and Chesed (charity) and Kavod
Habriot (respect for humanity). HDS is proud of its reputation of
providing genuine care and a sincere interest in each student’s
educational progress, while guiding them to make positive contributions
within society. |
| Computer Lab |
| Our state of the art computer lab has 10 PC computers
networked together using the latest wireless technology. Our students
learn the vital computer skills they will need to function as individuals
and as part of a technological workforce. Scanners, color printers,
multimedia lab, user-interfaces, and carefully supervised Internet
access are part of that teaching process. Various computer projects
let students get a hands-on learning experience. |
